What is the Difference Between Bikini, Full Bikini, French and Brazilian Waxing?

When it comes to waxing for hair removal ‘down there’ you have a couple of options. If you go to a salon to have your waxing done it is important to know the difference between a bikini wax and a Brazilian wax. Also, be sure that if you are going to a salon that their terms mean the same as ours here in the US and Canada.

Bikini Waxing - a bikini wax is when the hair outside the panty or bikini line is removed. This option is perfect for first time bikini waxers and for those who don’t want to worry about embarrassing hairs during swimsuit season. Bikini waxing at home is simple and cost efficient.

Full Bikini Waxing - a full bikini wax is when you remove a little more hair then a regular bikini waxing. This can include the top of your pubic hair line and more from the sides at your panty line is removed. (Think of an upside down triangle) Hair that is not removed may also be trimmed down. A full bikini is great for those who want more definition and more hair removed than just a regular bikini wax.

French Bikini Waxing - a french bikini wax is when all of the hair in the front and sides is removed. You may opt to leave a small strip of hair (aka landing strip). This option is for those who want the area bare and smooth without removing hair from the behind. (See Brazilian below)

Brazilian Waxing - a Brazilian wax is when you have all the hair removed from the sides, front and all the way back and in between. Yes, we are talking your bum here, all hair is removed or you may choose to have a strip or small triangle left at the front. Brazilian waxing is perfect for those who wear a thong bikini or just want to be completely hairless in these areas.
